Bio
Dr. MacKenzie was born and raised in Saint John, New Brunswick. He studied biology at Dalhousie University and graduated in 1984. He continued his studies at the Dalhousie Dental School and received his DDS in 1988. He practiced dentistry in Kingston, Ontario after he graduated. In 1990, he moved to Halifax to practise and has been here ever since.
Dr. MacKenzie is an active member of the Canadian Dental Association, Faculté for Orthodontic Research and Continuing Education Study Club, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, International Congress of Oral Implantologists (Fellowship Status), and the International Team for Implantology (ITI).
He has a special interest in orthodontics and was in the Canadian International Straight Wire Orthodontic Study Club from 1999 to 2004. He’s a Gold-Certified Invisalign provider - a recognition of his skills and expertise in Invisalign treatment for crooked and misaligned teeth.

Dr. MacKenzie is an active member of the community and has a wide range of interests and activities outside dentistry. He completed the Canadian Securities Course (Honours) at the Canadian Securities Institute in 2001. He has been an active member of the Masonic Lodge since 1995. He has volunteered as a coach with Bedford Minor Hockey coach. He’s also a member of the Tridents Navy Triathlon Team, and he has completed several Sprint and Olympic distance triathlons in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Quebec.
Dr. MacKenzie and his wife have a daughter and three sons. He enjoys downhill skiing, cycling, kayaking, and playing jazz/blues guitar.
